Affliction League Mechanic Guide Wildwood Ascendancies
Wildwood Ascendancies
Wildwood Ascendancies are an additional Ascendancy you can acquire from Affliction that you can take in addition to your normal class Ascendancy.
These Ascendancies can confer a significant amount of character power, increase the quantity found of specific Wisp types, and can grant access to new types of equipment.
This is a Pre-Launch Guide, as the Affliction Challenge League is not yet live. This guide is based on publicly available information about Affliction through reveals, teasers, Q&A, developer answers, etc, and will continue to be updated up through – and after – league launch. As such, information in this guide may be inaccurate, or simply changed by GGG prior to launch.
Unlocking a Wildwood Ascendancy
In order to unlock a Wildwood Ascendancy, you must first find the Azmeri Wanderer associated with that Ascendancy in the Wildwood. When you do, you may choose to gain their Ascendancy, and gain your 1st and 2nd Ascendancy points.
You can gain more ascendancy points by following a questline from that Wanderer, tasking you with accomplishing increasingly difficult tasks in the Wildwood – culminating in your 7th and 8th Ascendancy points from killing the final Wildwood boss.
Respeccing Ascendancies
You can respec your Ascendancy by simply choosing a new Ascendancy from a different Wanderer. This will set you back to 2 Ascendancy points, and you will have to complete the questline from your newly-chosen Wanderer to regain more Ascendancy points.
Whether or not you’ve defeated the final boss is shared across questlines, however, and upon earning your 6th Ascendancy point, you will instantly complete the remaining quests for your 7th and 8th point.
If you respec your Ascendancy back to one you’ve already completed quests for, you will maintain your previously-completed quest status for those quests, and instantly reaquire any previously-earned Ascendancy points.
