Crafting Guide: Basic Boots

The Finished Item

The finished item that you should have after following this guide heavily depends on whether you’re looking to make high Life-based boots or high Energy Shield boots. You can see examples of how the finished products can look below.

The Base

Your choice of base item will differ depending on whether you are playing a Life-based build or an Energy Shield-based build. For an Energy Shield base, you should go for a pair of Sorcerer Boots, while for the Life-based version you can use any base you want. For the latter, I suggest looking for a pair of Two-Toned Boots (Cold and Lightning Resistances).

You’ll want a minimum item level of 86 so you’ll be able to hit tier 1 movement speed, increasing your speed by 35%.

Crafting Process

The crafting process is extremely straightforward. For an Energy Shield focused approach you’re going to want to spam 2 socket resonators ( Potent Chaotic Resonator) combined with a Dense Fossil and a Shuddering Fossil. Ideally, you’ll want an item with both a high Energy Shield and an included movement speed roll. If you end up with a high Energy Shield and no movement speed roll, you can always bench-craft the movement speed. Alternately, you can bench-craft additional Energy Shield if your item has other, desirable modifiers.

For a Life-focused version, the process is essentially the same however instead of a Dense Fossil you will use Pristine Fossil. When reforging, focus on a higher Life tier as well as a movement speed modifier alongside modifiers you’ll be satisfied with, such as resistance rolls or armor/evasion depending on your focus.

TL;DR

1. Decide if you’re going for a Life base or Energy Shield then pick applicable base boots.
2. Use Dense Fossil or Pristine Fossil with 2-socket Resonators including a Shuddering Fossil until you hit desirable modifiers. You can either keep these or bench-craft the item to finish.
