Eye of Winter Inquisitor Gear, Jewels & Flasks (The Forbidden Sanctum)
Summary – TL;DR
Cap your Elemental Resistances and get the attributes your gems require to make sure you can use them all. Most pieces should be Rare with Life and of course any lacking attributes/resistances.
My quick list recommended approach for this build would then be:
Item Slot | Item Name | Rarity |
Head | Life then res/attributes as needed | Rare |
Amulet | Life & + level of cold skills or critical strike multiplier | Rare |
Chest | Life, spell suppression & res/attributes as needed | Rare |
Gloves | Life then Res/Attributes as needed | Rare |
Boots | Darkray Vectors | Unique |
Belt | Life & res/attributes as needed | Rare |
Rings | Snakepit (right ring slot) & Dream Fragments | 2x Unique |
Weapon | Spell damage, + lvl of cold skills & critical strike multiplier | Rare |
Shield | Life, spell suppression & res/attributes as needed | Rare |

Armour Pieces
A lot of the higher budget examples can either be purchased or crafted, and when crafted I would strongly suggest utilizing Craft of Exile to determine the cheapest approach to crafting the desired items.
Since most items in this build are Rare, the main focus will be to have as much Life as possible and sort out any Attributes & Resistances, as we need to reach the desired caps. However, with that said there are some juicy choices one can take to increase the build’s efficiency, although it does come with a higher price tag. Do keep in mind that it is important for higher end-game to have your spell suppression capped at 100%.
Helmet
Generically we’ll be focusing on high life with attributes and/or resistances if needed. It’s also very important that we make sure to bench-craft “12% increased mine throwing speed” on the items where it’s possible to help make the build smoother to play.
Body Armour
High life with spell suppression, make sure to add any resistances or attributes if needed.
Gloves
Again, high life with spell suppression & any resistances and/or attributes as needed.
Boots
For this build we’ll be using the unique Darkray Vectors, they provide a ton of modifiers we desire such as maximum frenzy charge & movement speed.
Belt
Generic belt with life as well as any lacking attributes and/or resistances, using a Heavy Belt can help the need for strength here and keeps the cost down:
Accessories
Amulet
High life but if the currency allows, getting a modifier saying “+1 to level of all cold skill gems” helps a lot for the end-game content, do keep in mind that getting a roll of “+#% critical strike multiplier can in many cases be cheaper than the + cold skill modifier and gives almost the same benefit. Outside of getting any missing resistances and/or attributes we also want to put the bench-craft “12% increased mine throwing speed” on this slot as well.
The anoint you want is Divine Judgement.
Rings
We’ll run with the Snakepit in our right-ring-slot & a Dream Fragments in the other.
Weapons
Since Eye of Winter is a spell, scaling it with + level of skills (Spell or Cold skills) is a very effective way to ramp the damage up, outside of that we can utilize generic spell, Elemental or cold damage as well as Critical Strike Chance for spells and of course, critical strike multiplier:
Flasks
Flask set-ups are almost always a matter of personal taste when it comes to what utility flasks to use. However, I will list the set-up I’ve been using for a smooth play experience. To find the available list of modifiers the flasks can have, check out these links: Utility Flasks, Life Flasks, Mana Flasks & lastly: Hybrid Flasks
Slot | Flask | Description |
1 | “Seething” Divine Life Flask of “Sealing”, “Alleviation”, “Allaying” or “Assuaging” | Instant Life flask, preferably with instant recovery & bleed removal |
2 | “Transgressor”, “Masochist’s” or “Flaggelant’s” Granite Flask of “Abalone”, “Tortoise”, “Pangolin” or “Armadillo” | Huge armor scaling flask |
3 | Jade Flask of the “Gazelle”, “Antelope”, “Ibex” or “Impala” | This flask provides us with extra evasion |
4 | Diamond Flask of “Stinging”, “Piercing”, “Rupturing”, “Penetrating” or “Incision” | This flask is here to increase our critical strike chance with our mines |
5 | “Transgressor”, “Masochist’s” or “Flaggelant’s” Quicksilver Flask | The obvious movement speed flask with charge sustain prefix modifier, the suffix can be whichever you feel like |
For higher budget versions I would skip the Life Flask, and instead use the expensive Bottled Faith

Jewels
For jewel socket we are looking for increased life as the main modifier and the second modifier will always be any of the modifiers that would increase your critical strike multiplier other generic modifiers that would scale the damage can come in the form of “mine damage” or “spell damage”.
Cluster Jewels
For the higher end-game content you’ll want to get a medium clusters granting Trap & Mine damage with a maximum of 5 passive skills, then you either purchase or preferably craft them yourself as that is expected to almost always be cheaper. The nodes we’re looking for are “Arcane Pyrotechnics” & “Guerilla Tactics” which both ramps your damage output significantly!
