GhazzyTV's Spectre Summoner Necromancer Gear Progression Page (PoE Settlers of Kalguur)
Introduction
While the PoB shows you what gear we believe belongs in which budget, it might still be a bit unclear in what order we think you should prioritize what.
On this page, we will do our best to explain what we prioritize when, and why. With that out of the way, let’s dig into the gear progression.
Campaign
During the campaign with this build, you will for the most part pick up items that have the links and colours you desire and hit them with an Orb of Alchemy or an Essence with an appropriate function to make them rare. You will be hoping for a resistance when doing this, and should you end up having an open suffix on the item the crafting bench will let you add on a second resistance roll or an attribute roll, depending on your current needs.
Keeping your resistances as high as possible, ensuring you have the attribute rolls and getting some life modifiers is all you need to worry about at this stage. Do keep in mind that resistances are not very important in the first couple of acts but becomes extremely crucial for your survival around Act 5 and forward and reaching the cap (75%) is preferable for all 3 elements at this point. If you’re struggling with gear to reach this you can always replace any of your offensive aura(s) for a Purity of Elements to help solve this potential problem.
Low Budget
The most important thing to note, is that we do not want to play spectres fully committed until we have a maximum of four. We achieve this by reaching gem level 25 and pathing to Death Attunement.
For this you will need +1 on a wand, +1 on a shield, +1 from bones of Ullr and either +2 from a helmet or +1 helmet with level 21 gem—any combination of these works.
We are going to make the assumption that you have kept your resistances capped going into this budget, and will be working with that assumption. If you do not have capped resistances when hitting maps, you need to get that sorted as soon as possible. Any attributes you might need to keep leveling your gems and/or equip gear will also need to be sorted either via gear or by deviating slightly from the skill-tree by picking up any needed “+30 attribute” nodes on the tree. Gear wise, pieces such as a Heavy Belt and/or Jade Amulet are great pieces to solve attribute issues.
Early gear
The first order of business is going to be acquiring a 6-Link with the correct colours. You should initially look for a corrupted 6-Link, as they are cheap and will provide you with some base defenses.
Bones of Ullr is our next step in progression, as it is dirt cheap and provides us with +1 spectres.
Following that our order of priority is assembling +1 modifiers on our gear as outlined at the start of the budget.
You get whatever stats you get on these items. Minion damage, resistances, life, attribute it all works.
Just make sure the wand has an open suffix for trigger craft!
Perquil's Toe should make an appearance as soon as you can fit it into your build. I’d recommend doing this early, or keeping in mind how much dexterity it has and plan accordingly.
Our remaining jewelry will be covering basic stats like resistance, life, attributes and the like.
Darkness Enthroned should be introduced once you’ve acquired some jewels and you can cover your resistances on remaining items. A rare belt can be used for a time as it makes it easier to cover resistances, but should be replaced by DE as soon as possible.
If you’re struggling with resistances, you can always run a Ghastly Eye Jewel with a resistance roll (preferably all elemental resistance).
Unending Hunger has slightly volatile pricing. Some leagues it’s very cheap, some leagues it’s very expensive. Keep an eye on it and acquire one as soon as you can.
If you have not already, it is high time you fix your flasks. This is one of the most universally overlooked things by newer players.
This concludes our journey through low budget.
Medium Budget
The first ting we want to do, if budget permits, is to acquire Wraithlord to stock up on spectres.
This would mean we discard all of our non-spectre minions, but it means way more spectres! This is a buff.
At this point we will be picking up a Raise Spectre of Transience to spawn temporary spectres to apply the buff from Feeding Frenzy Support
Medium budget is reasonably flexible in which item is upgraded when, but if you have not acquired a level 21 Raise Spectre I would suggest you do so right now.
Acquiring a chest with +1 to maximum number of spectres is something you should prioritise early. It will help make sure you can maintain a comfortable amount of projectile vomiting spider-bros.
Once you’re able to afford a Stormshroud, I’d recommend you gather up two Ghastly Eye Jewel‘s with “chance to avoid being shocked” at preferably 40+%. One of these go into our belt, and together they and Stormshroud provide us full ailment immunity.
It’s important that you upgrade your Darkness Enthroned at this point, as a higher roll is likely needed to push these two jewels to combine for 100% shock avoidance.
We’re going to want to cram as much spell suppression as we possibly can on our rare pieces, especially the gloves. Evasion/ES pieces are preferred as we need a reasonable ES pool for EB, and we need the ability to roll suppression.
If you can fit a high suppression on your boots along with +1 spectres, that is helpful, but it will be extremely expensive.
A The Green Nightmare socketed near the Sanctuary cluster will provide 19% Spell Suppression base level with the nodes there. There is an option to use Tattoos to make this number increase, and i highly suggest you look into that.
Just make sure you can make up the strength somewhere else!
A +2 wand with decent minion damage and trigger should be prioritized reasonably high.
Ideally, we’d want to be able to run 2x Bone Ring.
Ideally, we want both of these to have both minion damage and attack/cast speed. Along with suffixes we need such as resistances and/or attributes. This might be too tall of an ask, if it is, compromise on the minion damage or drop that mod altogether.
A better shield is worth considering at this point, as there are a lot of potentially great modifiers to get here.
Other than that, it is once again time to polish up the flasks and dot the I’s.
Upgrade your Ghastly eye jewels and have fun.
