GhazzyTV's Iron Mass Skeleton Necromancer Gear, Jewels & Flasks (PoE Settlers of Kalguur)
Summary – TL;DR
Cap your Elemental Resistances and get the attributes your gems require to make sure you can use them all. Most pieces should be Rare with Life and of course any lacking attributes/resistances.
My quick list recommended approach for this build would then be:
Item Slot | Item Name | Rarity |
Head | Ancient Skull | Unique |
Amulet | Life then res/attributes as needed | Rare |
Chest | Suppression then life/res/attributes as needed | Rare |
Gloves | Asenath's Gentle Touch | Unique |
Boots | March of the Legion | Unique |
Belt | Darkness Enthroned OR rare for stats | Unique or Rare |
Rings | Life then Res/Attributes as needed | Rare |
Weapon | The Iron Mass | Unique |
Weapon | Stabilising Sceptre | Rare |
Armour Pieces
A lot of the higher budget examples can either be purchased or crafted, and when crafted I would strongly suggest utilizing Craft of Exile to determine the cheapest approach to crafting the desired items.
Since most items in this build are Rare, the main focus will be to have as much Life as possible and sort out any Attributes & Resistances, as we need to reach the desired caps. However, with that said there are some juicy choices one can take to increase the build’s efficiency, although it does come with a higher price tag.
Helmet
We’re going with the extremely effective Ancient Skull. This item effectively has no downsides to us, as we are only using skeletons and they are temporary minions and are easily resummoned.
Body Armour
A rare chest with Evasion base for suppression is preferred here. Ideally Evasion/Energy shield to ensure you have enough Energy Shield to cast Wrath
Gloves
Asenath's Gentle Touch These gloves provide us with explosions. As this build struggles with clear, this comes in extremely clutch.
A rare pair with high life any resistances and/or attributes as needed can work in a pinch early on.
Boots
March of the Legion Becomes our go-to for this slot. A +5 is likely too expensive early on, but a +4 with decent resistance rolls will serve you perfectly fine for a long time.
Weapon
The bread & butter of this build is all about our weapon: The Iron Mass
Weapon
Our second weapon option here is going to be a Stabilising Sceptre. We utilise this specific base for its Elemental Equilibrium implicit.
Roll yours with the highest tier Fear essence you can afford, aim for open suffix for trigger and you’re golden for early game.
Belt
Most minion builds will always go for the Darkness Enthroned and we will do this for this build as well.
You can and should feel comfortable using a rare belt to shore up resistances early on, but Darkness Enthroned will be superior in the long run.
Accessories
Amulet
High life as per usual, the amulet slot is also one of the best places to get as much attributes as you need as possible, specially dexterity as most minion builds usually struggle with getting enough Dexterity for the gems.
In later budgets the build will make use of Perquil's Toe. Fitting this in early will be a massive damage boost if you can make up the attributes in other places.
The anoint you want is Quickstep. This will cost you 2x Amber Oil and 1x Verdant Oil
Rings
We are continuing the trend of focusing on high life with any needed resistances and/or attributes.
The base is not really important, as long as it provides us with either elemental or chaos resistances.
Jewels
One Medium Cluster of the minion life variety. This NEEDS to have Blessed Rebirth on it. This is vitally important or the build will not function properly.
Secondary affix here is not important.
One small cluster of the spell suppression variety. Elegant form is my preferred go-to here, but any notable works.
Flasks
Flask set-ups are almost always a matter of personal taste when it comes to what utility flasks to use. However, I will list the set-up I’ve been using for a smooth play experience. To find the available list of modifiers the flasks can have, check out these links: Utility Flasks, Life Flasks, Mana Flasks & lastly: Hybrid Flasks
Slot | Flask | Description |
1 | “Effervescent” Divine Life Flask of “Sealing”, “Alleviation”, “Allaying” or “Assuaging” | Partially instant recovery & bleed removal |
2 | “Transgressor”, “Masochist’s” or “Flaggelant’s” Granite Flask of “Abalone”, “Tortoise”, “Pangolin” or “Armadillo” | Huge armor scaling flask |
3 | “Transgressor”, “Masochist’s” or “Flaggelant’s” Basalt Flask of “Gazelle”, “Antelope”, “Ibex” or “Impala” | Some evasion is surprisingly efficient. |
4 | “Transgressor”, “Masochist’s” or “Flaggelant’s Quicksilver Flask with whichever suffix you prefer. | |
5 | “Transgressor”, “Masochist’s” or “Flaggelant’s” Quartz Flask | Some spell suppression and phasing is incredibly important. Suffix here is largely optional |
Until you have your chaos resistance capped without it, you should replace your quartz flask within amethyst flask. Go back to the Quartz as soon as you’re chaos capped without flask however.
For higher budget versions I would skip the Life Flask, and instead use the expensive Bottled Faith
