What is the Settlers of Kalguur League?

In Path of Exile: Settles of Kalguur, you will help Kalguuran pioneers build the town of Kingmarch and establish trade between Wreaclast and their homeland.

This Path of Exile expansion introduces the Settlers of Kalguur Challenge League with the following content:

When will the Settlers of Kalguur League Launch?

You will be able to experience the new Path of Exile Settlers of Kalguur League on July 26th (PDT) for PC, Mac and Consoles.

What is the League Mechanic?

In the Settlers of Kalguur Challenge League, you’ll come across familiar faces from the Expedition league: Dannig, Rog, Tujen, and Gwennen. They are on a mission to gather resources in Wraeclast to initiate town construction and establish a shipping trade route to Kalguur. To aid in this endeavor, they have enlisted numerous characters from Wraeclast, some of whom you might recognize. However, they are also in need of the assistance of a powerful Exile, like yourself.

Harness the Resources of Wreaclast

During your adventures, you might discover minerals like Crimson Iron, corrupted veins of iron that spawn dangerous foes upon approach. Orichalcum, on the other hand, must be liberated from the demons that worship it. Petrified Amber attracts mindless Blighted Enemies, while Bismuth, with its strong elemental affinity, causes the area to become unstable. If you’re fortunate, you might come across Verisium, a material as valuable as it is dangerous, and fiercely guarded by powerful enemies.

These resources become accessible once you defeat the enemies guarding them. You can then tag the deposit for mining. Now, the question is, who will handle the hard labor?

Manage Kingsmarch

Theopolis wasn’t built in a day, and neither will Kingsmarch. However, many hands make light work. Head to the town and hire skilled workers to assist with mining, smelting, disenchanting, farming, and other essential tasks needed in Kingsmarch. Each worker has their own specialities and wage costs, so it’s up to you to hire and fire as you see fit. Throughout the league, you’ll be on the lookout for the perfect employees for each job. Once you find them, you must ensure they are paid, safe, and alive.

Establish Trade Routes

Eventually, you can construct a Harbour and establish a shipping route between various Kalguuran and Karui ports for trade. Load your gathered resources onto these ships and send them to a port of your choice, where your traders will negotiate for the best deals. Each port will offer specific rewards based on what you send. Once your shipment returns, you’ll be notified, allowing you to return to town and collect your rewards at your convenience.

Delegate Map Running

In addition to shipping, the Kalguurans are keen on their technology. They have enlisted Isla, an engineer from the Heist League. Once you reach the Endgame, Isla can assist you in constructing a series of Kalguuran-modified Map Devices, allowing you to queue up multiple Maps. If you’ve hired a few skilled combatants, they will take on the task of running those maps for you one after another.

Benefit from Kalguuran Crafting Techniques

Dannig himself operates a Runesmithing Table, using powerful Kalguuran blacksmithing arts to engrave runic magic onto your weapons. With numerous rune types and combinations to choose from, you can unlock new crafts that enchant your weapons.

The benefits of Kalguuran technology don’t stop there. We’re also reintroducing a community-favorite recombination system. Isla is working to master this system, but she needs your help to gather resources. While recombination isn’t exactly the same as it was in the Sentinel league, it still allows you to combine two items, aiming to merge the best modifiers of each onto a single item.

Discover a currency Trade Market

In this expansion, they’re introducing a Currency Trade Market. The Kalguurans have recruited Faustus, an NPC from the Heist league known for his expertise in Black Market trade and shady deals. Faustus enables you to asynchronously buy and sell currency and most other stackable items with other players. Simply select the currency you want, specify what you have, and set your ideal exchange ratio. Faustus will handle the trade for you, as long as there’s someone on the other end willing to sell at the same rate or lower.

Defend what you’ve build

As your town expands, it will draw increased attention, both positive and negative. Settlers of Kalguur introduces three endgame bosses who will target your operations, seeking a share of your success. They may capture and ransom your workers or even seize entire ships. You’ll face tough decisions: will you confront these bosses or pay them off?

Pledge Your Allegiance to Glory

The Gladiator Ascendancy Class has finally received its long-awaited rework. While it still offers passive skills for investing in Bleeding and Block, we have introduced new skills to replace some of the old ones. Additionally, we’ve added a new branch that focuses on Retaliation Skills, a new type of skill that lets you unleash devastating damage when specific conditions are met in combat.

New Ascendancy: Warden

They’re introducing the Warden, a new Ascendancy class that replaces the Raider Ascendancy. Drawing inspiration from its predecessor in the Affliction league, the Warden comes with several updates. This class emphasizes Elemental Attacks, features Barkskin to reduce Physical Damage from Hits, and specializes in Tinctures, which have been reworked and now appear as a core item type throughout Wraeclast.

Massive Balance Overhaul

In Path of Exile: Settlers of Kalguur, they’ve made extensive balance adjustments, including significant changes to Melee Skills, Block, Rage, Warcries, Banners, Bleed, and Impale. They’ve also introduced new Base Types for Endgame, enhanced Modifiers on Endgame Items, and increased Critical Strike Chances on Weapons, among many other updates. Endgame Content Improvements

Settlers of Kalguur brings a host of changes to Endgame content. They’re revamping many Scarabs, adding a 6th Map Device Slot, and introducing thrilling new encounters in Tier 16 and Tier 17 Maps. Additionally, they’re updating Blight and Ritual mechanics for Endgame and more. They’ve also introduced new types of Chisels and significantly boosted the drop rate of Valdo’s Puzzle Boxes.

Console Native Ports

They’ve been diligently working to enhance the Path of Exile experience on consoles. The game now fully utilizes console hardware, resulting in even shorter loading times, reduced pop-in issues, and textures that remain stable in demanding scenes.

Additionally, they’ve improved visual fidelity across all current-generation consoles. Path of Exile now features the highest resolution textures and advanced water effects available. They’ve also implemented a new upscaling algorithm to enhance the sharpness of dynamic resolution, complemented by an additional anti-aliasing pass for smoother visuals.
