GhazzyTV's Soulwrest Necromancer Gear, Jewels & Flasks
Summary – TL;DR
Cap your Elemental Resistances and get the attributes your gems require to make sure you can use them all. The only mandatory big item would be the Soulwrest. The remaining pieces should be Rare with Life and of course any lacking attributes/resistances.
My quick list recommended approach for this build would then be:
Item Slot | Item Name | Rarity |
---|---|---|
Head | Life then Res/Attribute Helmet | Rare |
Amulet | Life then Res/Attributes as needed | Rare |
Chest | Life then Res/Attributes as needed or just a Tabula Rasa | Rare/Unique |
Gloves | Life then Res/Attributes as needed | Rare |
Boots | Life then Res/Attributes as needed | Rare |
Belt | Darkness Enthroned | Unique |
Rings | Life then Res/Attributes as needed | Rare |
Weapons | Soulwrest | Unique |
Armour Pieces
A lot of the higher budget examples can either be purchased or crafted, and when crafted I would strongly suggest utilizing Craft of Exile to determine the cheapest approach to crafting the desired items.
Since most items in this build are Rare, the main focus will be to have as much Life as possible and sort out any Attributes & Resistances, as we need to reach the desired caps. However, with that said there are some juicy choices one can take to increase the build’s efficiency, although it does come with a higher price tag.
Helmet
Making sure you have proper life rolls on every item is fundamental for the build to survive, any resistances and/or resistances needed should also be prioritized. On this slot you can get yourself “+1-2 to level of all minion skill gems” however, if it is too expensive you can just skip it.
Modifier Priority List:
1. Life
2. +1-2 level of all minion skills
3. Elemental resistances if needed
4. Attributes if needed
5. Chaos resistance
Body Armour
Similar to the helmet, we go for high Life with what ever attributes or resistance you might need. However, for low budget you can also just settle with a Tabula Rasa.
Gloves
SImple gloves with life & res/attributes as needed. Higher budget options will want to go for a 4x White socket Triad Grip which can be very expensive.
Modifier Priority List:
1. Life
2. Elemental resistances if needed
3. Attributes if needed
4. Chaos resistance
Boots
Look for high Life, Attributes & Resistances, as needed. Higher budget options are rather limited in this slot, but getting “+ level of Spectre gems” from an Elder pair of boots is a nice touch, but even for high budget I wouldn’t personally bother. Instead I would go for high Movement Speed to be my priority on top of the defensive stats.
Modifier Priority List:
1. Life
2. Movement speed
3. Elemental resistances if needed
4. Attributes if needed
5. Chaos resistance
Belt
The belt comes with a variety of options. For a lower budget version, you either go for any type of belt, preferably a Stygian Vise due to the jewel slot, with, again, high Life and attributes/Resistances as needed. However, I would personally use a Darkness Enthroned and smack in a properly-rolled Ghastly Eye Jewels with high Life rolls & the modifier “#% increased Minion Damage if you’ve used a Minion skill recently”. Do keep in mind that you need to reach 100% chance to poison on your Phantasm minions, the Darkness Enthroned can help with this by scaling the modifiers we have on the jewel socketed in the belt.
Cheap Jewel:
Optimal Jewel:
_Poison Chance Ghastly Eye Jewels:
The build will require three Ghastly Eye Jewels dedicated to capping poison chance for the low-budget version. As the PoB shows, a 14% poison chance roll on both of your belt jewels is key here. The remaining 12% you can pick up on a ghastly eye jewel in your tree. It’s of vital importance your highest roll poison ghastlies, go into the DE belt.
The Priority for these jewels is quite simple: Cap poison chance as soon as possible.
-Minions have #% chance to poison enemies on hit
-Maximum Life
-Minions deal #% increased Damage if you have used a Minion Skill Recently
Mandatory Jewel for 100% poison on hit:
Accessories
Amulet
The modifiers you want on the amulet are very straightforward: Life, resistances, and attributes, based of your needs.
The anoint you want is Gravepact.
Modifier Priority List:
1. Life
2. Attributes if needed
3. Elemental resistances if needed
4. Chaos resistance
Rings
The rings you want here should include Life, Attributes & Resistances. Very important to point out that we want 1x Unset Ring to help make room for all our skill-gems!
Modifier Priority List:
1. Life
2. Attributes if needed
3. Elemental resistances if needed
4. Chaos resistance
Weapon
The entire build revolves around using Soulwrest. The best part of this build is the fact that since the main skill comes from a modifier from the staff itself, and we don’t actually need to link it. All we need is to have 6 sockets in the staff, which is not just easy to achieve but is hilariously cheap as well!
Flasks
Flask set-ups are almost always a matter of personal taste when it comes to what utility flasks to use. However, I will list the set-up I’ve been using for a smooth play experience. To find the available list of modifiers the flasks can have, check out these links: Utility Flasks, Life Flasks, Mana Flasks & lastly: Hybrid Flasks
Slot | Flask | Description |
1 | “Seething” Divine Life Flask of “Sealing”, “Alleviation”, “Allaying” or “Assuaging” | Instant life flask that also removes bleed effects from you |
2 | Rumi's Concoction | This flask provides us with the remaining block % that we need to reach the caps |
3 | “Transgressor”, “Masochist’s” or “Flaggelant’s” Basalt Flask of “Abalone”, “Tortoise”, “Pangolin” or “Armadillo” | The prefix modifier helps sustain the flask charges during map clearing & the flask provides increased physical damage mitigation whilst the suffix increase your armor significantly |
4 | “Transgressor”, “Masochist’s” or “Flaggelant’s” Granite Flask w/e Suffix | Defensive layers with a Prefix modifier to help sustain flask charges, the suffix can be whichever you feel like |
5 | “Transgressor”, “Masochist’s” or “Flaggelant’s” Quicksilver Flask w/e Suffix | The obvious movement speed flask with charge sustain prefix modifier, the suffix can be whichever you feel like |

Jewels
Minions builds almost always use the same type of jewel: we want to have an eHP increaser, which for this build means a Life roll. The main damage modifier we are looking for is only available from Ghastly Eye Jewel and is the “#% Increased Minion Damage when you’ve used a minion skill recently”. Anything besides those 2 modifiers can be either attack speed increase for your minions or Added Physical Damage for your minions.
Other desirable modifiers are either Taunt or Blind on hit for your minions; these modifiers are exclusive to the Ghastly Eye Jewels.
A big unique jewel you should be looking to get at the higher levels is the Amanamu's Gaze as it will scale 6% increased damage over time multiplier for your minions per Ghastly Eye Jewel (including itself) so this jewel gives maximum benefits when you have this + 4 other Ghastly Eye Jewels.
