Forbidden Rite Hierophant Gear, Jewels & Flasks
SUMMARY – TL;DR
Cap your Elemental Resistances and get the attributes your gems require to make sure you can use them all. The pieces should be Rare with high Life & preferably mana rolls, and of course any lacking Attributes/Resistances. If you are able to get Chaos, Spell Damage, or Crit modifiers on any of the Rare slots, this can be a great addition.
My quick list recommended approach for this build would then be:
Item Slot | Item Name | Rarity |
---|---|---|
Head | Life & Mana then Res/Attributes as needed | Rare |
Amulet | Life & Mana then Res/Attributes as needed | Rare |
Chest | Soul Mantle | Unique |
Gloves | Life & Mana then Res/Attributes as needed | Rare |
Boots | Torchoak Step | Unique |
Belt | Life & Mana then Res/Attributes as needed | Rare |
Rings | 1x Rare ring with high life & res/attributes as needed + 1x Kikazaru | Rare/Unique |
Weapon | Spell, Chaos dmg with cast speed and crit/crit multi modifiers | Rare |
Shield | Life & Mana preferably a shaper base with +1 to maximum summoned totem count | Rare |
ARMOUR PIECES
A lot of the higher budget examples can either be purchased or crafted, and when crafted I would strongly suggest utilizing Craft of Exile to determine the cheapest approach to crafting the desired items.
Since most items in this build are Rare, the main focus will be to have as much Energy Shield as possible and sort any Attributes & Resistances as needed to reach the desired caps. However, with that said, there are some juicy choices one can take to increase the build’s efficiency, although it does come with a higher price tag.
Helmet
In this slot, like most of your other slots, you are looking to get as much Life & mana as you can get. After this, just focus on sorting Resistances & Attributes based on your needs.
BODY ARMOUR
This is the bread & butter of the build as we are utilizing Soul Mantle for the free Spell Totem support & self-cursing strategy.
GLOVES
This is yet another slot where you want as much Life & Mana as you can get. Focus on Resistances & Attributes, based on your needs, after that.
BOOTS
Since scaling the life of our totems provides such insane amounts of damage we will be using the very common & cheap unique: Torchoak Step!
BELT
This is yet another slot where you want to get as much Life & Mana as possible, after which you will want to sort out your Resistances & Attributes, as needed.
ACCESSORIES
AMULET
In this slot, aside from high Life & Mana and Attributes/Resistances, you can also look look to spend more currency on equipping an amulet with Critical Strike Multiplier mod to scale your damage even further.
The anoint you want is Ironwood.
RINGS
Since we are self-cursing with our body armor we must make sure to negate the effect of curses on us, the cheapest way to do this is the combine the Yugul minor god from the Pantheon or either Asylum or Sanctum of Thought from the passive skill-tree in combination with 1x Kikazaru rings that you ramp up with caster scaling Imbued Catalyst which as of patch 3.16 will bring the Kikazaru ring from 60% to 72% and the remaining curse effectiveness reduction will come from the upgraded Pantheon power Soul of Yugul and/or the stated passive nodes.
As we are only required to use 1 Kikazaru ring, the other ring can simply be a rare ring with high life, mana & any res/attributes you might need:
WEAPON
Chaos & Spell damage is the main mod you’re going to want and then any addition of cast speed, critical strike chance & critical strike multiplier are the main damage source modifiers you’ll want on your weapon, having Projectile Speed on this will be a MASSIVE quality of life addition though!
SHIELD
Any shield with high Life & Mana is good here, however, to be optimal you’re going to want to get yourself a Shaper influenced shield to get the “+1 to maximum summoned totem” modifier which will help scale your damage significantly.
FLASKS
Flask set-ups are almost always a matter of personal taste when it comes to what utility flasks to use. However, I will list the set-up I’ve been using for a smooth play experience. To find the available list of modifiers the flasks can have, check out these links: Utility Flasks, Life Flasks, Mana Flasks & lastly: Hybrid Flasks
Slot | Flask | Description |
---|---|---|
1 | Diamond Flask | This flask is here to make sure you have increased critical strike chance |
2 | Divine Life Flask | Life flask, preferably with instant recovery & bleed removal |
3 | Eternal Life Flask | Helps you heal over time if you are taking poison damage or standing in any DoT ground effects |
4 | Enduring Eternal Mana Flask of the arcanist | This is the bread & butter of keeping your mana regen high & rolling consistently thanks to the Enduring modifier not making it stop when you hit full mana |
5 | Quicksilver Flask | When you pop your Vaal Cold Snap, you’ll want to move as fast as you can through as many enemies as possible; this is the key solution to that |
JEWELS
Life or Mana for yourself but for damage scaling the main priority is increased totem life and later any sort of critical strike multiplier for spells.
For Unique jewels, we are using a variety of them some more crucial than others. The optional one being: ###item:spire-of-stone### whilst the more crucial ones being: Self-Flagellation which helps you scale increased damage from the entire self-cursing strategy that we’re doing. Rain of Splinters is used to give us 2 extra projectiles to hit that sweet spot of 6 projectiles per summoned totem as that is the maximum projectiles that can hit a single enemy.
