GhazzyTV's Holy Relic Guardian Gear, Jewels & Flasks (PoE Settlers of Kalguur)
Summary – TL;DR
Cap your Elemental Resistances and get the attributes your gems require to make sure you can use them all. There are a few unique item options however, the remaining pieces should be Rare with Life and of course any lacking attributes/resistances.
My quick list recommended approach for this build would then be:
Item Slot | Item Name | Rarity |
---|---|---|
Head | Geofri's Crest | Unique |
Amulet | Life, resistances but most importantly attributes | Rare |
Chest | Choice of Corrupted Rare chest or a Dialla's Malefaction | Unique or Rare |
Gloves | 3-green 1-Red socket Triad Grip | Unique |
Boots | Rare Boots | Rare |
Belt | Darkness Enthroned | Unique |
Rings | 1x Unset Ring | Unique |
Rings | 1X Bone Ring | Rare |
Weapon | Cutlass or other high APM low dex sword | Rare |
Shield | Minion shield | Rare |
Armour Pieces
Some of the higher budget examples can either be purchased or crafted, and when crafted I would strongly suggest utilizing Craft of Exile to determine the cheapest approach to crafting the desired items.
Since most items in this build are unique, the main focus will be to have as much Life as possible and sort out any Attributes & Resistances, as we need to reach the desired caps. However, with that said there are some juicy choices one can take to increase the build’s efficiency, although it does come with a higher price tag.
Helmet
This slot is a given, we’re married to Geofri's Crest. It comes with elemental resistances, chaos resistance and gives us +1 Relic. We literally cannot beat this +1 relic mod with anything, so there’s no point trying.
It’s worthwhile to look for a corrupted one with decent rolls, as +2 level of auras or socketed gem reservation might open up options for you. Neither budget in this guide is constructed with such an option in mind, due to assumed low availability.
Body Armour
The body armour slot in this guide is also pretty much a given, Dialla's Malefaction. Due to price we have left this out of the low budget, where we have opted for a corrupted rare chest to keep the budget down.
Diallas is absolutely the play if you can afford one, however!
Diallas is a weird chest, in my ways. Unlike normal pieces of gear, socket colours do not need to match the gem being socketed in it. It also has no attribute requirement, and as such does not favour any specific socket colour. We care only about what bonuses we want each gem to get.
We want a red socket for our Relic to give it +2 levels. The rest of the sockets we ideally want to have green for all of our support skill gems.
The only variable here, which will be personal preference, is whether you put Hypothermia Support in a red or green socket. +2 levels is 1% increased damage (red) and 30% quality is 30% increased chance to freeze chilled enemy (green). This will be up to you.
Gloves
Triad Grip is our only viable option here as we need it to convert the damage our minions deal to elemental. You want a pair with 3x Green and 1x Red colors.
Boots
This slot is very basic, we grab a rare pair with movement speed, life and resistance. More resistance, more better!
Shield
We’re going with a minion shield of some kind here, such as a Fossilised Spirit Shield.
Prioritize affixes as follows:
- +1 to level of all minion skills. Consider this effectively mandatory.
- +# to maximum life
- #% increased minion damage
- #% elemental resistance
Honorable mentions:
- #% minion elemental resistance this helps cap out the minions resistances and can be invaluable.
Weapon
Since we are using Lancing Steel of Spraying, our main weapon has to be a sword or an axe. As swords have higher base attack speed, we will be using a sword.
Specifically a high base attack speed sword with a low dexterity requirement, such as Cutlass.
All you need to do with this weapon is slam a few Deafening Essence of Fear on it until you have a good roll and an open suffix for trigger. That’s it, weapon sorted.
Belt
Darkness Enthroned makes it usual appearance here. This belt’s ability to host 2x Ghastly Eye Jewel makes it more or less unrivalled for minion builds.
You do not have to have an incredibly high #% roll on the boost here in low budget, that mostly matters later on. That said, a higher number is better if you have decent jewels.
Feel free to run a rare belt here early on to help fix resistance, but you want to move into DE as soon as possible.
Accessories
Amulet
For the low budget, we want our amulet to provide us with needed attributes, life and resistance. In that order.
The preferred base here is Jade Amulet as our only problematic attribute is dexterity.
For higher budgets the build will want a Replica Dragonfang's Flight with Holy Relic levels. This could prove expensive if the build becomes popular, but there’s sadly no competitive option. A generic +1 all amulet would serve somewhat in a pinch.
Amulet Anointment
There are plenty of great notables to anoint on your amulet, for this build we’ll go with the Deflection Notable. This will cost you: 1 Sepia Oil, 1 Indigo Oil and 1 Silver Oil
Rings
One of these should be an Unset Ring and one of them should be a Bone Ring.
You want them to provide you with attributes, life and resistance. Exactly how much of each you need depends on your other gear pieces.
The Bone Ring has to carry minion elemental resistance to cap their elemental res, and it should ideally also carry minion damage. The latter is purely numbers, so it can be skipped.
Jewels
We’ll be exclusively using Ghastly Eye Jewel as they provide minion related modifiers. Thanks to Darkness Enthroned we can put our best jewels in there to further scale those modifiers. Also note that if you’re struggling to solve attributes and/or resistances you can get those modifiers on these jewels as well and they are also scaled by the Darkness Enthroned belt should it come down to that!
Jewel Modifier Priority List:
1. Life
3. Added flat physical damage to your minions (Flat cold works as well, but it’s worse than phys)
4. Increased x% minion damage, when you’ve used a minion skill recently
5. Attributes and/or resistances if needed
Flasks
Flask set-ups are almost always a matter of personal taste when it comes to what utility flasks to use. However, I will list the set-up I’ve been using for a smooth play experience. To find the available list of modifiers the flasks can have, check out these links: Utility Flasks, Life Flasks, Mana Flasks & lastly: Hybrid Flasks
1 | “Bubbling” Divine Life Flask of Sealing | Instant life flask with rapid recovery that also removes bleed effects from you |
2 | “Transgressor”, “Masochist’s” or “Flaggelant’s” Granite Flask of “Abalone”, “Tortoise”, “Pangolin” or “Armadillo” | The prefix modifier helps sustain the flask charges during map clearing & the flask provides increased physical damage mitigation whilst the suffix increase your armor significantly |
3 | “Transgressor”, “Masochist’s” or “Flaggelant’s” Basalt Flask | The prefix modifier helps sustain the flask charges during map clearing & the flask provides increased physical damage mitigation whilst the suffix can be anything, really. You could even run Stun and Block recovery mod here as the other flasks already covers it. |
4 | “Transgressor”, “Masochist’s” or “Flaggelant’s” Silver Flask | The onslaught helps not just our movement speed but the speed of which you summon your minions, the suffix can be whichever you feel like, the guide opts for movement speed |
5 | “Transgressor”, “Masochist’s” or “Flaggelant’s” Quicksilver Flask of“Petrel”, “Mockingbird”, “Curlew”, Kakapo” or “Opossum” | This is a great alternative to the Silver flask if you just want to move faster. It grants vast movement speed. Suffix reduces effect of curses |
